Henna tattoos are having a major beauty moment right here in the US we can be sure to see them all over the festival circuit but people are wondering is it culturally acceptable to wear henna if it's not a part of your own culture. Hey guys we’re here with Zara she is the expert on henna tattoos. Tell us everything we need to know those are it tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into the world of henna as a child I actually always adored henna whenever I'd go to hell apart Eve that weddings I always loved to help everyone crowded around the henna lady and she was being it person at the party why do you think that it's become such a mainstream in the Western culture. I think all the countries now being able to access each other's culture via Instagram social media and us being able to travel a lot easier and be able to see other countries in their culture with some celebrities adorning themselves with it in their videos or you'll see Rihanna's hand tattoo that's a very requested pattern by so many of my clients. I think it just say interests people yeah and it's fun and it's temporary and it's beautiful can I ask you about white henna because I've seen it done before I would really love to try it today but I know it's different than regular Henna white hell it doesn't come from a plant like regular natural Henna white honey is actually just like a body paint and it will dry within about half an hour and it stays on you for about three or four days I don't know how you take care of it. I'm so excited to see what its gonna look like on my skin color can you tell us a little bit about best practices for taking care of the henna when anyone actually applied henna the best thing to do is let it dry completely don't wash it off try and keep it on for at least four hours and it will come off naturally. Natural henna like this would always leave you with a very dry orange stain to start off with it's gonna then react to your body heat and over the next two days it's gonna start taking its course with its color so it's almost like the henna has activated over the course of 40 exactly and you'll notice after 48 hours it will generally stay at that color a great tip to get darker henna stains staying warm for my hot yoga class tomorrow morning is a good thing. Yes do you have any tips on how a westerner can wear the henna without offending anyone I think some people feel like oh you're just taking the part of my culture and having it for a little while enjoying it then you don't really want to explore the whole side of the culture if you were to put henna on and you know it doesn't mean anything or it's not directly linked to some kind of symbol or anything like that why don't see it actually offending anyone do you get a lot of specific requests for certain designs. We have a lot of people who come for like holiday hello before they're about to hit the Sun on the beach more recently I feel it's more of a sort of the view design with random rings this looks so insanely beautiful I'm so glad you like it I'm also very relaxed right now that's definitely one of the benefits of it as well it's perfect to go to the Rihanna concert tonight after getting to know a little bit more about henna today I am definitely into it and think that anyone else could rock it as well but it's definitely important to kind of understand the history of where it comes from you.
